En 1962 à Natchez, Mississippi, ça s’épivardait pas fort au volleyball de plage et la seule façon de voir des jupes plus hautes que le genou, c’était d’aller voir les filles jouer au basket :

Most Athletic – Delilah Eidt and James Shaidnagle.

The annual athletic banquet was the most exciting in many years. The Greenies enjoyed one of their most successful football seasons in school history. Sonny Stone, field general, received the Sportsmanship Trophy. George Hude, halfback, gained the Most Valuable Back Trophy. Tommy Brocanto, center and linebacker, was awarded the Most Valuable Lineman Trophy. Brocanto also received the coveted Thom McAn Trophy, bringing this award to Cathedral for the first time. The basketball teams were also honored. For the girls’ team, Delilah Eidt received the Sportsmanship Trophy, while Marilyn Kenda captured the Most Valuable Player Trophy.

The Girl’s Basketball team enjoyed a successful year. The team’s excellent coach, Jo Ann Hoggatt, and the whole team displayed skill and zest in every game. The entire team will miss the senior players and managers and wishes them luck always. Coach Jo Ann Hoggatt, the basketball coach, led the girls to one of their most successful seasons.
